Description

[One of the Yamaha Teams Launching a Counterattack]

The Yamaha YZR-M1, now in its third year competing in the MotoGP class, the pinnacle of motorcycle road racing in the world championship, features a fuel-injected, 4-stroke in-line 4-cylinder 990cc engine mounted in an aluminum twin-tube Deltabox frame.

Riding V. Rossi, who had transferred from Honda, it was the 2004 champion.

The Yamaha team fielded four machines that year, with C. Checa and M. Melandri riding the silver and red machines.

Checa took 2nd place in the third round, and M. Melandri also took 3rd place in the fifth and sixth rounds, signaling a counterattack against the ever-victorious Honda RC211V field.

Following V. Rossi's blue YZR-M1, which won the fierce battle and became the champion, the red and silver "Fortuna" livery is now available.
