Description
[A small tuned car that gained popularity]
Known as "Abarth Magic," one of the masterpieces by Carlo Abarth, who boasted exceptional tuner skills, is the Fiat Abarth 695 SS, which debuted in 1964.
Based on the Fiat 500, a popular mass-produced car in Italy during the 1960s, the engine displacement was increased to 689cc, the compression ratio was raised, and a larger carburetor was installed, boosting the power to 38 horsepower.
The suspension was also strengthened and the track was widened, resulting in agile handling reminiscent of a sports car.
Furthermore, a racing version was added, and it was very successful in touring car races throughout Europe in the 1960s, winning many victories in the under 700cc class.
This glorious name is still carried on in Abarth's current lineup.
