[Model Specifications]

The Suzuya (鈴谷), part of the "Seventh Squadron, First Platoon 第七戰隊一小隊" that played an active role in the Dutch East Indies campaign 荷蘭東印度群島戰役 at the beginning of the Pacific War 太平洋戰爭, is now available as a model!

The model captures the characteristics of the later Mogami-class (最上級) ships and the individual differences between it and its sister ship Kumano (熊野), and further utilizes additional molds to recreate its appearance in 1942!

This model kit features the Suzuya (鈴谷), a ship of the "Seventh Squadron, First Platoon 第七戰隊一小隊," which played a key role in the early stages of the Pacific War's Dutch East Indies campaign 太平洋戰爭 - 荷蘭東印度群島戰役!

The model accurately depicts the characteristics of the later Mogami-class (最上級) ships and the individual differences between it and its sister ship, Kumano (熊野), and utilizes additional molds to recreate its appearance in 1942!

● The product is modeled after the third Mogami-class (最上級) ship, "Suzuya (鈴谷)," around 1942, before the lessons learned from the war were incorporated.

● The hull sides utilize special parts to represent the early wartime appearance, with a different hull cross-section than the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈) and un-closed portholes.

Hull Structure

・Special parts to represent the early wartime appearance with unclosed portholes.

・External electrical wiring is molded integrally with the hull, representing a different installation location than the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈).

Bridge/Foremast

・The foremast is a special part for the 1942 specification, with an added command post before the start of the war and no radar installed.

・The anti-aircraft command post features a separate binoculars for observation, and the floor is precisely sculpted to resemble grating.

High-angle gun mounts/antenna supports

・The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun mounts are unique to the Suzuya (鈴谷)/Kumano (熊野), with protrusions on the underside of the mounts.

・The antenna supports installed on the roofs of the 3rd and 4th main gun turrets are dedicated parts that reproduce the unique shape of each ship.

Aft mast/Aft bridge/Crane

・The aft mast is a Suzuya (鈴谷) specific part with a rearward-sloping top and a Y-shaped yardarm, reproducing the difference from the Kumano (熊野).

・Features different crane parts from the Kumano (熊野), and distinctive lightening holes with precisely sculpted details.

Included decals

・Includes markings such as the naval ensign, national flag, and the Hinomaru 日之丸 (Japanese flag) on carrier-based aircraft.

The assembly instructions include mini-explanations that allow you to learn about the names of the equipment and information about the actual ships while building.

The package box includes a mini-box paper craft so you can preserve the box after assembly.

The Special Series is a 1/700 scale, waterline model that reproduces the ship's draft.
