[Model Specifications]

Introducing a new display base!

The revised design improves stability with a lower center of gravity and increased contact area.

The Kantai NEXT Series is a plastic kit that makes building ship models easier while still achieving a realistic finish.

Each part is molded in a different color, eliminating the need for painting.

The snap-fit design eliminates the need for adhesive, making this series a cut above conventional kits.

The 5,500-ton light cruiser "Kuma," (球磨) with its distinctive vertically laid linoleum deck, is now available as a new model kit with a hull bottom and new molds!

This product is designed as a snap-fit kit that requires no glue, setting it apart from conventional kits.

Assembly is entirely snap-fit, and both waterline and full-hull versions can be built by dividing the parts at the waterline (excluding bonus parts).

● The product is modeled after the Kuma in the latter half of 1942, before its anti-aircraft armament was strengthened.

・Unlike the horizontally laid linoleum decks of typical warships, the Kuma's unique vertically laid linoleum is reproduced with dedicated parts.

・The hull is a Kuma-specific part representing its early wartime state before the portholes were closed. It is a separate part from the Tama (多摩).

・Based on records of its dry docking at the Kure Naval Arsenal in August-September 1942, the main battleship color is a relatively bright shade mimicking the "Kure Arsenal color." (呉海軍工廠)

★ Bow

The steel plates/strips (anti-slip) on the anchor chain deck are meticulously crafted with delicate sculpting to differentiate the surface details.

The external electrical conduits are represented with appropriate height and definition for a visually appealing model.

★ Main Guns

There are two types of shield canopies, one with and one without a knuckle (bending angle), but the Kuma model depicts the type with a knuckle.

★ Bridge

Even small details, such as the support pillars below the observation post on the side of the bridge, are rendered in 3D without omission, resulting in a design that enhances the precision of the finished model.

★ Torpedo Armament

Both the forward and aft torpedo tubes are designed to rotate (in firing position).

★ Center Section

The central section of the hull reflects numerous details, including the thickness of the armor plates and the three-dimensional shape of the rivets.

The funnel is represented with a Kuma-specific part featuring the early-type rainwater removal device (a distorted shape with a bulging top).

The port aft davit reproduces the larger, replaced version.

The catapult is a newly designed part based on the Kure Type 2 Model 3 catapult (呉式二号三型射出機) that was equipped during wartime.

The seaplane is a newly designed part based on the Type 94 Model 2 seaplane. (九四式二号水上偵察機)

The 3-piece structure reproduces the large float-equipped aircraft.

★ Rear/Stern

The rear shelter deck section is precisely designed and divided into battleship gray on the deck edges/sides and linoleum-colored horizontal surfaces.

The tip of the Type 1 linked mine rail at the stern is depicted in a folded state, and its appearance is accurately represented without any omissions.

The Kan NEXT series is a plastic kit that makes ship model building easier while still achieving a realistic finish.
