Developed in West Germany in the 1970s, the Leopard 2 became the main battle tank of the German Federal Army.

Among them, the A6 represents a significant modernization, dramatically increasing its offensive and defensive capabilities.

Features such as the wedge-shaped add-on armor on the turret and the commander's panoramic sight equipped with a thermal imaging device were carried over from the previous A5 model, while the main gun, a 120 mm smoothbore gun, was extended to 55 calibers.

The barrel lengthened to over 1 meter significantly improved muzzle velocity and armor penetration.

Deployment of the A6 began in 2001, and modified versions were also used in Greece and Canada, gaining trust.

Then, in January 2023, the German government announced the provision of its A6 tanks to the Ukrainian army to support the Russian invasion.
