[An Open Sports Car with a New Handling Experience]

The S2000, an open-top sports car with a rear-engine, rear-wheel drive (FR) design, was released in April 1999 to commemorate Honda's 50th anniversary.

Its long-nose, short-deck body exudes a dynamic design inspired by traditional sports cars.

Its front-mounted, 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder DOHC engine drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

A 50:50 weight distribution and four-wheel double wishbone suspension deliver superior driving performance, creating a sense of unity between driver and vehicle.

In July 2000, the S2000 was joined by the Type V, equipped with VGS.

VGS adjusts the steering gear ratio based on vehicle speed and steering angle.

At low speeds, the car responds quickly even with small steering angles, while at high speeds, it responds gently with small steering angles and quickly with larger steering angles, creating a steering feel reminiscent of a racing car.

Furthermore, the Type V's chassis and suspension are specially tuned for enhanced handling and stability.
