[Model Specifications]

The Kumano (熊野), part of the "Seventh Squadron, First Platoon 第七戰隊一小隊" that played an active role in the Dutch East Indies campaign 荷蘭東印度群島戰役 at the beginning of the Pacific War 太平洋戰爭, is now available as a model!

The model captures the characteristics of the later Mogami-class (最上級) ships and the individual differences between it and its sister ship Suzuya (鈴谷), and further utilizes additional molds to recreate its appearance in 1942!

This model kit features the Kumano (熊野), a ship of the "Seventh Squadron, First Platoon 第七戰隊一小隊," which played a key role in the early stages of the Pacific War's Dutch East Indies campaign 太平洋戰爭 - 荷蘭東印度群島戰役!

It accurately depicts the characteristics of the later Mogami-class (最上級) ships and the individual differences between it and its sister ship, Suzuya (鈴谷), and utilizes additional molds to recreate its appearance in 1942!

● The product is modeled after the Mogami-class's (最上級) fourth ship, "Kumano (熊野)," around 1942, before the lessons learned from the war were incorporated.

● The hull sides utilize special parts to represent the early wartime appearance, with a different hull cross-section than the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈) and un-closed portholes.

Hull Structure

・Special parts to represent the early wartime appearance with unclosed portholes.

・External electrical wiring is molded integrally with the hull, representing a different installation location than the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈).

Bridge/Foremast

・The foremast is a special part for the 1942 specification, with an added command post before the start of the war and no radar.

・The anti-aircraft command post features a separate binoculars for observation, and the floor surface is precisely sculpted to resemble grating.

Chimney/Air Intake/Linoleum Deck

・The slender chimney, a characteristic of the Suzuya (鈴谷)/Kumano (熊野), is provided as a dedicated part.

・The boiler room air intake below the chimney is reproduced as a dedicated part, differing in shape and size from that of the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈).

High-Angle Gun Mount/Antenna Support

・The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun mount is unique to the Kumano (熊野)/Suzuya (鈴谷), featuring a protrusion on the underside of the mount.

・The antenna support installed on the roof of the 3rd/4th main gun turret is a dedicated part that reproduces the unique shape of each ship.

Aft Mast/Aft Bridge/Crane

・The aft mast is a Kumano (熊野) specific part, with a vertical top and a Y-shaped yard, reproducing the difference from the Suzuya (鈴谷).

・Features a different crane part from the Suzuya (鈴谷), and a distinctive lightening hole shape with precisely sculpted details.

The assembly instructions include mini-explanations that allow you to learn about the names of the fittings and information about the actual ship while you build it.

The package box includes a mini-box paper craft so you can save the box after assembly.

The Special Series is a 1/700 scale, waterline model that reproduces the part above the waterline.

This ship model boasts excellent detail reproduction thanks to its detailed parts division and delicate sculpting.
