[Model Specifications]

The Mogami (最上), which became a heavy cruiser after its main guns were replaced, is now available as a model using new molds.

Representing its appearance from the start of the war to the Battle of Midway (中途島海戰)

● The product is based on the Mogami-class (最上級) second ship "Mikuma (三隈)" as it appeared from the start of the Pacific War to the Battle of Midway in June 1942.

The Mogami (最上), transformed into a heavy cruiser after its main guns were replaced, is now available as a model kit using new molds.

~ Appearance from the start of the war to the Battle of Midway 中途島海戰 ~

● This product is based on the Mogami-class (最上級) cruiser "Mikuma (三隈)," as it appeared from the start of the Pacific War 太平洋戰爭 to the Battle of Midway 中途島海戰 in June 1942.

● The hull cross-section differs from that of the Suzuya/Kumano, and the portholes, standard at the start of the war, are depicted in an unclosed state using dedicated parts.

Hull Structure

・Reproduces the appearance of the portholes, which differ from those of the aircraft cruiser Mogami (最上).

・The external electrical wiring differs from that of the Mogami (最上); the central section includes dedicated photo-etched parts. Some cutting and pasting are required to reproduce the details.

Bridge/Foremast

・Reproduces the observation post equipped with the Type 92 torpedo launch command system, a characteristic feature at the start of the war.

・Dedicated parts are used to reproduce the boiler room air intakes aft of the bridge and on both sides, which exist only on the Mogami (最上)/Mikuma (三隈).

High-Angle Gun Mounts/Antennae Masts

・The 12.7 cm twin high-angle gun mounts are parts exclusive to the Mogami (鈴谷)/Mikuma (熊野), with a flat underside.

・The antennae masts installed on the roofs of the 3rd and 4th main gun turrets are exclusive parts that reproduce the unique shape of each ship.

Aft Mast/Aft Bridge/Crane

・The seaplane recovery crane features lightening holes reproduced on the sides and top using slide molding, and the hooks are also delicately crafted.

Shelter Deck/Aircraft Work Deck

・The shelter section, equipped with torpedo tubes, is three-dimensionally reproduced based on official drawings, including the spare torpedo storage area.

Aircraft

・The molded color is gray to improve workability (prevent damage during gate cutting).

Included Decals

・Includes markings such as the naval ensign, national flag, and the Hinomaru 日之丸 (Japanese flag) on aircraft.
