The modified Suzuya-class (改鈴谷型) heavy cruiser "Ibuki (伊吹)" makes its debut as a 1/700 scale injection kit!

This phantom cruiser, which was launched as a heavy cruiser but was converted into an aircraft carrier during construction due to a change in plans, is now being produced using specially designed parts.

● The product is modeled after the modified Suzuya-class (改鈴谷型) lead ship "Ibuki (伊吹)" as it would have appeared if completed as a heavy cruiser during wartime.

● The rigging, torpedo armament, and distinctive parts, which differ from the Mogami-class (最上級), are provided as dedicated parts.

Fleet Structure

・Fleet parts with the same cross-sectional shape as the later Mogami-class (最上級) ships "Suzuya (鈴谷)" and "Kumano (熊野)" are provided. The portholes are reproduced in their closed state, based on lessons learned from combat.

Bridge/Foremast

・The foremast is equipped with one Type 21 radar, two Type 22 radars, and an E27 radar. The Type 22 radar, in particular, is realistically sculpted despite its extremely small size.

・The bridge windows are provided as transparent parts for a more realistic finish.

・The anti-aircraft guns installed on both sides of the bridge are Type 94 anti-aircraft guns (Mogami-class (最上級) ships were equipped with Type 91 anti-aircraft guns).

・The floors of the anti-aircraft command post and compass bridge feature delicately sculpted grating.

・The anti-aircraft command post includes binoculars that enhance the sense of detail when attached.

Aft Mast/Crane/Depth Charge Armament

・The aft mast is a dedicated part mounted directly in front of the No. 4 turret, with a seaplane recovery crane and Type 13 radar in the opposite position to those on the Suzuya (鈴谷).

・The stern features depth charge rails and depth charges as anti-submarine armament, using dedicated parts.

Shelter Deck/Aircraft Work Deck

・The torpedo tubes are the quadruple launchers planned in the initial design, reproduced with newly molded dedicated parts.

・The torpedo tubes can be mounted in the normal position along the centerline, in a rotated firing position, or at any angle.

Carrier-Based Aircraft

・The molded color is gray to improve workability (prevent damage during gate cutting).

・Three "Zuiun (瑞雲水上偵察機)" seaplanes, which appeared as carrier-based reconnaissance aircraft at the end of the war, are included.

The Special Series is a 1/700 scale, waterline model that reproduces the area above the waterline.

This ship model boasts excellent detail reproduction through detailed parts division and delicate sculpting.
