Escort the decoy Zuikaku (瑞鶴) !!
The long-awaited 5,500-ton light cruiser is finally here in 2020 with a completely new mold and the latest technology to create a definitive model!
● The model is based on the Zuikaku's (瑞鶴) final appearance during Operation Sho-Ichi-Go (捷一号作戦) in October 1944.
The catapult was removed and replaced with additional machine guns, and the No. 7 14 cm main gun was replaced with a 12.7 cm twin anti-aircraft gun.
The horizontally laid linoleum deck, different from that of the Kuma, is accurately reproduced.
★ Bow
The subtle curve near the bow fairlead is accurately shaped. The 66 cm shear (height) of the bow is reflected in the design and reproduced.
★ Main Guns
The 14 cm main guns are shaped including the breech (inside the shield), and slide molding is used to represent the open muzzle.
Only the No. 1-4 main guns have wave deflectors on the shields, and dedicated parts are used to represent the difference from the No. 5-6 main guns.
The No. 2 main gun includes two parts: one facing backward in its normal position, and another facing forward with the barrel elevated for wave protection.
★ Bridge
The bulletproof plate covering the compass bridge is meticulously reproduced, paying close attention to shape, rivets, and mounting angles.
★ Central Section
The 5,500-ton light cruiser has two types of linoleum decks: longitudinal and transverse.
The Tama (多摩) uses dedicated parts for the transverse deck.
★ Rear/Stern
The double-horn shape of the stern is accurately reproduced on the hull bottom part.
★ Pre-cut stickers are included to express the detailed colors.
