[The Goliath and Assault Engineers: A Fun Diorama Project]
The Goliath was a small, tracked explosive-carrying vehicle developed by the German military during World War II.
The first model, the Sd.Kfz.302, was a compact vehicle approximately 1.6 m long, equipped with two electric motors, a 12V battery, and capable of carrying up to 60 kg of explosives.
It could be remotely controlled via a wire to approach targets and detonate the explosives.
Approximately 2,650 units were produced between April 1942 and January 1944, primarily used by assault engineer units.
They were deployed across various battlefronts for attacks on fixed positions and vehicles, and for clearing minefields.
