The German Heinkel He 162 was put into service at the end of World War II, with astonishing speed: just three months from planning inception to the prototype's first flight.

Based on the emergency light fighter plan issued in September 1944, it was developed as a simple and highly manufacturable single-engine jet fighter.

Its compact and lightweight airframe was equipped with an 800kg thrust BMW 003 turbojet engine, giving it a maximum speed of 838km/h.

It began deployment to units in late March 1945, toward the end of the war, and despite the desperate situation and fuel shortages, it achieved a record of shootdowns in actual combat.

[Model Specifications]

● This is a plastic assembly kit model of the Heinkel He 162, the last jet fighter deployed by the German Luftwaffe in the final stages of World War II.

● 1/48 scale, length 205 mm, wingspan 149 mm.

● The unique style, including the dorsal single-engine jet engine, sleek fuselage, and twin vertical tails, has been faithfully reproduced.

● The BMW 003 jet engine is also precisely reproduced. Two types of engine cover are provided, one open and one closed, and can be reassembled into open or closed positions using polycaps even after completion.

● A transport dolly is also included so that the removed engine can be displayed alone.

● The canopy can be selected to be opened or closed. The ejection seat is removable.

● One pilot figure and four types of markings are included. A weight that can be installed in the front of the fuselage is also included. (The image below is a prototype.)
