Description
[Ideal for realistic damage expression]
This material is used for "chipping", a technique used in military models to express the state where the body color has peeled off and the base color is visible.
After applying a base coat with lacquer-based paint, apply chipping liquid with a brush or airbrush, and then apply acrylic paint on top.
If you apply water to the area where you want to apply chipping and leave it for a few minutes, the top coat of acrylic paint will be easily peeled off with a toothpick.
Since the paint is actually peeled off, you can express realistic damage that is different from scratches drawn with a brush.
[Basic specifications]
Comes in a 40 ml square bottle. Safe water-based type.
*Use lacquer-based paint (LP, TS, AS, Primer Surfacer) for the base color (glossy and metallic colors are not allowed
*Matte metallic colors are allowed). Use acrylic paint for the top coat.
Please check the precautions here before use.
■ The way the chipping liquid is applied and the amount of time that has passed since the top coat will affect how it peels off. Please test it beforehand to get a feel for it.
■ Avoid using masking material as it will remove the top coat of paint.
■ Clean equipment with water.

*The damage was created using chipping fluid. By carefully controlling the size of the scratches and the areas where the paint is removed, the effect becomes even more realistic.
Instructions for use:

1) Apply base color with lacquer paint (LP, TS, AS). Gloss paints and metallic colors cannot be used as base colors because they repel chipping fluid.

2) Apply the chipping fluid with a brush or airbrush. If it is too thick, dilute it with water.

3) Paint the body color with acrylic paint. The key is to paint thin layers instead of applying a thick layer all at once.

4) Apply water to the area you want to remove the body color from. Leave it for a few minutes to soften the body color coating.

5) Peel off the body color with a toothpick or similar, and allow to dry thoroughly after completion. Also, as time passes after painting the body color, it becomes difficult to peel off even with water, so chipping work should be done within one week after painting the body color.
