Description

[The Eye of the Blue Sky that Gained the Trust of Ground Forces]

With a slight headwind, it could easily take off with a runway of less than 50 m, and a steep landing of 20 m was sufficient.

As a reconnaissance and liaison aircraft with unparalleled and astonishing short takeoff and landing capabilities, the Fieseler Fi156C Storch appeared on all fronts as the eyes of the German army in World War II.

Now, as the 100th model, it joins the 1/48 Masterpiece Aircraft Series.

Numerous ideas have been incorporated to thoroughly recreate the aircraft's functional form, including its large straight wings, windshields that jut out from the sides, and sturdy main landing gear.

This is the culmination of the series.

We aimed to create an appealing kit that could be described as "a truly fascinating machine."

Since this aircraft is known for being flown by the famous general Rommel himself to inspect the front lines, the kit includes six figures of Rommel in both seated and standing poses, as well as pilot and officer figures.

This makes it easy to recreate scenes such as Rommel dismounting from the Storch and giving orders to his staff.

Of course, the Storch, which worked closely with ground forces, is ideal for combining with vehicles and figures from the 1/48 Scale MM series to create a diverse scene.

This model will greatly expand the enjoyment of creating scenes across genres.

[About the Fieseler Fi156C Storch]

The German Fieseler Fi 156, affectionately known as the "Storch" (Stork), is a rare aircraft that brilliantly achieved STOL (Short Take Off and Landing) performance nearly 70 years ago, a goal that remains important today.

While the aircraft may appear delicate at first glance, every detail is essential, and its meticulous design philosophy captivates aviation enthusiasts.

No detail is wasted, from the slim fuselage and long main wings, to the wide, all-round field of view, and the long-stroke main landing gear for rough ground takeoff and landing.

To maintain the slender fuselage, the aircraft eschewed the standard air-cooled radial engine of the time and instead opted for a vertically long, inverted V8.

From its first flight in 1936 to the 1960s, the aircraft continued to be used in many countries, even after Germany's defeat in the war, making it a truly exceptional aircraft.
