The FC3S RX-7 debuted in 1985, seven and a half years after the first-generation RX-7, and was an upgrade over its predecessor in terms of quality and enhanced equipment, without compromising its sports car-like proportions.

It featured blister-type front and rear fenders, which were fresh at the time, and was characterized by an advanced form composed of curved surfaces.
