Aqueous Hobby Color were introduced in 1982, designed to allow you to enjoy painting safely and comfortably at home.
In 2019, the main raw material design was revised for the first time in about 38 years, dramatically improving performance and safety.
You can now casually paint professionally at home.
Product Features:
- Water-soluble acrylic resin paint that can be diluted with water. The amount of organic solvent used is less than that of solvent-based acrylic resin paints, and milder ones are used. Therefore, the smell of the paint is mild and easy to handle.
- It becomes water-resistant after drying. Before drying, it can be diluted with water and tools can be washed. After drying, please use Mr. Tool Cleaner Kai or similar to clean.
- The gloss and smoothness of the coating are very excellent.
Dilution and number of coats:
- When applying with a brush, there is basically no need to dilute it. You can use it as it is. If it is highly viscous, add a small amount of water or water-based hobby color thinner to loosen it before use.
- When spraying with an airbrush, add about 1 part Aqueous Hobby Color thinner to 1 part paint. (Dilution ratio: about 1:1)
It can also be diluted with water, but if there is too much water, it will be more likely to be repelled by the target. Also, the more water you add, the longer it will take to dry. - Apply 1-2 coats with a brush, or 2-3 thin coats with an airbrush for a beautiful finish.
If the base color is dark and shows through the overpainted color, apply more coats as needed.
<How to adjust from gloss to semi-gloss/matte>
If you want to change a gloss color to matte, add 15% or more of H40 Flat Base, or 5-10% to change it to semi-gloss.
<Changes from previous specifications>
- The strength of the paint film has been improved, improving the quality of the glossy finish.
- The drying speed has been improved.
- Due to the change in raw materials used, the number of pigments that can be used has increased, and the pigments used are almost the same as those used in Mr. Color, improving color reproducibility. (Excluding blue pigments/metallic pigments, etc.). As a result, the color and gloss of some paints have been changed.
Caution:
- This paint contains organic solvents. Please ventilate the area well during and after use.
- Cannot be mixed with other model paints.
