Description

Product Information Details:

Mr. Mark Setter is a decal adhesive.

Use it to attach decals firmly to painted surfaces.

It is particularly effective when used on old decals that have lost their adhesion or decals that do not have strong adhesive properties.

It also contains ingredients that soften decals.

Apply a small amount to the location where you want to attach the decal, and then place the decal on top of it.

The adhesive will bond the decal to the painted surface, making it difficult to peel off even after drying.

The softening solvent will soften the decal rapidly, so if you apply too much, the decal itself may dissolve or the painted surface may be eroded.

Applying it on top of the applied decal will have some effect, but it should basically be applied under the decal.

This product is water-soluble, hence adding water appropriately will dilute the effect of the solvent and prevent rapid softening.

Depending on the painted surface and type of decal you are using, it is a good idea to dilute it with water before using.

After applying the decal, lightly press the decal with a slightly damp Mr. Cotton Swab, Mr. Clean Stick 2, or a dust-free cloth to ensure that the decal adheres firmly to the surface of the part.

At this time, wipe off any excess Mr. Mark Setter to prevent it from softening too much.

Using a damp cotton swab will neutralize the Mark Setter and prevent it from becoming too soft with the solvent.

If the decal is hard and does not soften easily, apply a small amount of MS231 Mr. Mark Softer to the decal and let it soak in. Be careful not to apply too much.

If air bubbles get between the decal and the part (silvering), after the decal has dried, carefully poke a hole in the decal with a needle or design knife. Then, apply Mr. Mark Softer again to soften the decal again, which will remove the air bubbles and allow the decal to adhere firmly to the surface of the part.

One way to prevent silvering is to finish the base on which the decal will be applied with a glossy surface.

The main agent used in the previous product has been changed to an environmentally friendly one and redesigned.

The changes made to the product are as follows.

・The adhesive has been changed from an emulsion resin adhesive to an acrylic resin adhesive. The adhesive performance is improved compared to the previous version.

Even if you apply a decal and then coat it with gloss clear and then mask it, the decal is less likely to be taken away by the masking tape.

・The softening performance is stronger than the previous version.

・It has more dissolving power for water-based hobby colors than the previous version. This is particularly noticeable when the drying time is short, so please dry it well and avoid applying a large amount.

When using it, it is best to dilute the Mark Setter with water to reduce its dissolving power before using it.

It depends on the drying time of the paint film, the amount used, and how you wipe it off, but a dilution of about 30% is a good guideline.
