Description

[Six-Wheel Shock Makes its First Arrival in Japan]

The Tyrrell P34, the only six-wheeled machine in F1 history, competed in the 1976 F1 season, achieving first and second place finishes at the Swedish Grand Prix, proving that it had hidden potential beyond mere eccentricity.

That same year, it also made an appearance at Fuji Speedway, Japan's first F1 race.

J. Scheckter finished fifth and P. Depailler 13th in qualifying.

In the rainy final race, P. Depailler made a fierce comeback and briefly took the lead.

As the track gradually dried, his rain tires burst towards the end, causing him to drop down the order, but he managed to finish second behind M. Andretti in a Lotus through an eventful race.

This car demonstrated the car's high performance to Japanese fans.
