Description
This plastic model assembly kit recreates the Yamaha Supersport YZF-R1, which debuted at the 1997 Milan Motor Show and was developed to be the fastest on winding roads.
The distinctive fairing, tank, and other sharp lines of the real thing have been faithfully recreated.
The compact body, which doesn't feel like a liter bike, is attractive even as a model.
The water-cooled 4-cylinder engine is precisely reproduced down to the smallest detail, and the various wiring and piping are represented by vinyl piping and fixed to the frame with metal screws, making for a satisfying build.
The frame and swingarm also feature a metal-plated finish.
The kit also includes a single-seat fairing that can be installed in place of the rear seat, and a racing stand.
