The Skyline GT-R was introduced in 1969 and achieved a total of 50 wins in touring car races at the time.
The glorious name, which had disappeared since 1973, was revived in the spring of 1989 for the first time in about 16 years.
The Skyline GT-R, called the R32 type, is equipped with an in-line 6-cylinder DOHC twin-turbo engine that brings together Nissan's technologies and produces 280 horsepower.
It adopts many advanced mechanisms, such as the electronically controlled torque split 4WD system "ATTESA E-TS" that transmits the large power to the road without waste, and the front and rear multi-link suspension with the 4-wheel steering mechanism "SUPER HICAS" that realizes high-speed and smooth cornering.
While the basic form is the same as the 2-door coupe model, it is also characterized by a more masculine style with blister fenders, a front bumper with a wide opening, and a large rear wing.
The R32 GT-R, which was developed with the aim of winning races from the beginning, demonstrated overwhelming strength, especially in Group A races.
The second generation GT-R achieved many great feats, including 29 consecutive wins in the All Japan Touring Car Championship from 1990 to 1993.
