The RX-7 is the third generation Mazda sports car, announced in October 1991.
Equipped with a 2-rotor rotary twin turbo engine that produces 255 horsepower, light handling due to a 50:50 front/rear weight balance, and attractive styling composed of curved surfaces, it has attracted attention and has been highly praised since its debut.
It is sold not only in Japan but also overseas, and sales in North America started in 1993.
Two grades are available, and the higher grade "R1" is equipped with front and rear spoilers, tower bars on the front wheel struts as standard, and the shock absorbers of the suspension have been changed to sports type.
The tires are low-profile tires that pursue driving performance, and it has excellent driving performance with 0-60 mph (about 100 km/h) acceleration of 5.5 seconds and 1/4 mile (0-about 400 m) acceleration of 14 seconds flat.
The RX-7 has won many fans not only as Mazda's representative high-performance car, but also as the only rotary sports car in the world.
