A concept model was released in 1993, and the fourth-generation Skyline GT-R was unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 1995.
This model, called the R33 type, is equipped with a 2.6-liter in-line 6-cylinder twin-turbo RB26DETT engine that produces 280 horsepower.
Although it is the same engine as the previous model, various parts have been improved, including a review of the computer control, and increasing the turbo boost pressure and intake and exhaust efficiency.
In particular, the V-spec model is equipped with the electronically controlled 4WD system "ATTESA E-TS PRO" that uses an active LSD, further refining driving performance and pursuing high dynamic performance.
In addition, while the style is based on a two-door coupe, it is full of power with large protruding front and rear fenders, a huge air intake on the front bumper, and an inverted trapezoid rear spoiler.
The R33 GT-R, which has been test driven on circuits such as the Nürburgring to extract all of its performance, also participated in the All Japan GT Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It also saw many successes in motorsports.
