Honda started out as a motorcycle manufacturer, and by leveraging its advanced technological capabilities, it grew its business and actively participated in races, achieving good results and quickly spreading its name around the world.
Honda then announced its entry into the four-wheel vehicle field, debuting the compact sports car S500 at the 1962 Motor Show.
In 1964, the S600 was released, with engine displacement increased to 606cc.
Its four-cylinder DOHC engine, with capabilities comparable to a racing engine, produced 57 horsepower and retained the original rear wheel chain drive.
Exports to Europe began, and the car attracted worldwide attention.
It also achieved good results in races both at home and abroad, and its name remains in Japanese automotive history as a masterpiece sports car.
