The Gruppe B is the 4WD super sports concept that Porsche announced at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show.
This mass-produced Porsche 959 was released in 1986. A 2,848cc air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine is mounted on the rear end, based on the engines of the Porsche 956 and 962, a Group C car that is active in endurance races and other events.
Equipped with two turbochargers, it delivers 450 horsepower.
It also features a full-time 4WD system that automatically controls the front and rear torque distribution using a computer depending on the road conditions and driving conditions.
It reliably transmits high power to the road surface, achieving safe and comfortable high-speed driving.
Additionally, the smooth body with excellent aerodynamic performance boasts a CD value of 0.39 has a long tail shape that is designed to be stable at 300 km/h.
